Lotos Collective presents:
Trial of The Mariner an immersive performance
Premiering May 2011 at historic Hoxton Hall, London

The show is an interactive event that responds to the destruction of our oceans; inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Lewis’ Carroll’s The Hunting of The Snark. The story weaves in and out of the audience beginning on a rolling boat-like structure with the Mariner arriving to retell his stories as actors, dancers and puppets come alive around you. Arriving at the Plastic Continent is not all it seems as the sailors battle the Plastic
Creatures, with the show climaxing in the mad frenzy of the Trial.

This tale of the high seas will shock and awe you into the future of our resources
and how we use them.

Lotos Collective has worked with local communities to help build the show out of their own household recycling. The only show about your rubbish made from your rubbish!

Are you a School, community organisation, or anyone else interested in performance, ecology and plastic and want to get involved?
